Travel and cross-cultural learning is essential to global citizenship

Flour, butter, sugar, and eggs sent me to China at 17

Travel, domestic and abroad, has afforded me invaluable experiences and perspective. At BAK'D we pay good will forward and strive to send girls and young women from underserved communities to places domestically and abroad they've never been before, with cookies.

The BAK'D Outdoors Fund endeavors to make sure cost is never a barrier to entry for travel for girls and young women. My mom saw to it that I didn't miss out on an extraordinary opportunity with something as ordinary as scratch-made cookies from the family kitchen. BAK'D is changing the trajectory of lives.

BAK'D is proud to sponsor
future Olympian Shenita Lawson

Shenita was 52-0 for the 2021-2022 season and wrestled in the largest classification in the state of Texas. She is a graduate of Euless Trinity High School and her dream is to try out for the US Olympic team changing the face and future of Olympic wrestling for women. Shenita has already trained at the Olympic training camp in Colorado and has joined the Women's Wrestling team at Southern Oregon University as a Sophomore Fall 2023.

The two time regional champion, district champion, state runner up, two time FolkStyle All American, and Texas state 180 Freestyle champion, has competed on Team Texas and Team Colorado against other teams from around the world.

In High School, when Shenita wasn't competing, she refereed matches to earn extra money for competition travel and training. The BAK'D Outdoors Fund sponsors Shenita to help cover the costs of travel and competition.

You too can support Shenita with every cookie order. Use promo code: SHENITA at checkout for 15% off. Shenita continues to travel, train, and compete with every order made in support of her dreams.
